Immersion in the Elegance of the Mizu Suite

ANA InterContinental Tokyo redefines luxury with its 801 completely reimagined rooms that marry Japanese aesthetics inspired by origami with contemporary design. The rooms perfectly harmonize Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary elegance, ensuring every guest enjoys rest and relaxation. The motifs highlight the concept of "origami" to embody the essence of "Tokyo unfolding," mirroring what guests experience as they discover their destination. Geometric patterns inspired by origami blend with custom carpeting paying homage to cherry blossoms, all set against traditional hues such as Sakura pink and pale indigo.

The newly introduced suites, named Mizu and Sora, bring refined Japanese aesthetics combined with contemporary comforts. The Mizu Suite, where we had the opportunity to stay, distinguishes itself through its water-inspired design and soft Japanese tones. Spanning approximately 52 square meters, it features a living room and bedroom in open flow, large windows with views of Tokyo, and a marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub and rainfall shower. This layout gives the suite the feel of a small apartment rather than a hotel room, offering living and resting spaces spacious enough to breathe, yet intimate enough to feel embraced. Additionally, it provides access to the club lounge, adding an extra touch of privilege to the experience.

Located on the 35th and 36th floors of the hotel, the Club InterContinental Lounge, also renovated in 2025, offers a refined and serene retreat above the city's bustling energy. Inspired by the tranquility of a Japanese garden, the lounge design harmoniously blends tradition and modernity, creating a sophisticated space where guests can relax or work in a luxurious setting. This lounge, the most spacious in Tokyo for an establishment of this caliber, offers panoramic views of the urban landscape, establishing a soothing visual connection with the dynamic metropolis below. It is exclusively accessible to guests of the 193 Club rooms and suites, ensuring a more intimate and personalized experience.

The options continue with Teppanyaki Akasaka, where cooking techniques and panoramic views of Tokyo combine for a memorable experience. THE STEAKHOUSE, with its warm atmosphere, showcases meats grilled over Binchotan charcoal, which we had the pleasure of discovering a few months ago (read the article here: The Steakhouse Tokyo, Between American Heritage and Japanese Refinement). With this variety of restaurants and bars, ANA InterContinental Tokyo establishes itself as an essential culinary destination, marrying tradition, innovation, and excellence in every dish and glass.

Fitness Routine and Summer Pool

On the fourth floor, the fitness center offers an incomparable wellness retreat. The gym, bathed in light thanks to its windows, is equipped with state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength training equipment, providing an ideal space to maintain an exercise routine even while traveling. The outdoor pool will captivate you with its unique setting in the heart of Tokyo. Open only in summer, from June to September, it promises unforgettable moments of relaxation under the sunny skies of the Japanese capital.

My Opinion

ANA InterContinental Tokyo stands proudly as a symbol of luxury and refinement in the heart of Akasaka, offering an unparalleled experience to travelers seeking the pinnacle of comfort and elegance. The hotel's recent renovation, with its meticulously reimagined spaces and exceptional services, demonstrates an unwavering dedication to excellence. Whether through its sumptuous suites, varied culinary delights, or exclusive club lounge, every aspect of the establishment is designed to captivate and amaze. This modern and sophisticated haven establishes itself as an essential destination for those wishing to discover Tokyo in all its splendor, while enjoying a luxurious and restful setting.

What I loved:

  • The Mizu Suite, beautifully decorated, modern and perfectly renovated, offering exceptional comfort.
  • The lounge, spacious while providing personalized service, quality cuisine, and great attention to guests.
  • The diversity of restaurants, notably the delicious Unkai with its superb garden view, as well as The Steakhouse.

What I regretted:

  • A lobby that seems less in keeping with the modernity of the rooms and restaurants, and which could be redesigned to better reflect the hotel's standing.

Practical Information

  • Mizu Suite at a rate of €580 in February 2026.
