My road trip through Provence began with a wonderful find: Terre Blanche! I had heard plenty of good things about its luxurious spa, considered the gold standard in France, but I never thought I would fall like I did for this upscale resort! As soon as I arrived on the premises I felt carried away by the vacation atmosphere. More on the two nights of pure bliss I spent there below!
The Perfect Place to Connect with Nature
Ranked as one of world’s best resorts, Terre Blanche attracts numerous honors every year and is a haven of easy living. You need only pass through the entrance to realize just how enormous the estate is: 300 hectares, or 1.5 times the size of Monaco, which just goes to show! To get around, you can simply hop on a golf cart, helping you feel even more like you’re in vacation mode. Terre Blanche was the perfect place to recharge our batteries before heading off on our Provençal road trip!
Authentic Luxury with 115 Suites and Villas
Connected by lovely garden pathways, the 115 villas and suites are completely surrounded by the well-preserved natural setting, just like in authentic Provençal villages. Everything is harmoniously integrated, with the only (fabulous) eccentricities being the various artworks spread throughout the premises, lending it a contemporary flair. As a member of the prestigious hotel chain “Leading Hotels of the World,” Terre Blanche shows off its status in its accommodation: the smallest suites are already 60 m², while the Terre Blanche Villa is an astounding 300 m², an incredibly luxurious setting with three rooms and a private pool.
We settled into the Premier Suite, which also plays the authenticity card with its regionally-inspired décor. At 60 m², the suite includes a living room, a bedroom with an adjoining walk-in closet that’s perfect for prolonged visits, and a spacious bathroom. It also features a private balcony with a view of the hills and villages of the Haut Var, ideal for relaxing in a deckchair or enjoying a glass of rosé wine from the region. The materials, colors, and lighting effects have all been carefully planned and work beautifully together.
Plenty to Do
This high-end resort has many other positive attributes! Guests are spoiled for choice with a multitude of activities, and can easily spend a week here without running out of things to do. We spent most of the afternoon on the first day lying on deckchairs alongside the gorgeous infinity pool. We also left our paradise to explore the surrounding area, including some small villages and the beaches nearby (with Cannes only 35 minutes away).
A Paradise for Golfers
Counted among the most prestigious in the world, the golf courses at Terre Blanche attract several internationally-renowned events throughout the year. Veteran golfers will adore the two 18-hole courses along with the Albatros Golf Performance Center, excellent for improving your technique. Cutting-edge technology like the Biomecaswing with its morphological diagnosis helps golfers to perfect their swing, and is a benchmark in the world of golf. For novice players, the center is also a great place to get started in optimal conditions.
The following day, we had lunch at the Les Caroubiers restaurant, where we enjoyed a panoramic view of the golf course from their superb terrace. Many golfers as well as the hotel’s clientele come here to take advantage of the rich and original cuisine on offer.
A Luxurious Spa
3200 m² dedicated to your health and wellness, that’s Terre Blanche’s promise! The bucolic yet contemporary center includes top-of-the-range amenities: sauna, steam room, laconium, ice fountain, and sensory shower, not to mention the two pools. The extra-large indoor pool is surrounded by an absolutely grandiose décor and bathed in natural light, making it a veritable temple of relaxation. In one of the 14 treatment rooms, guests can indulge in a massage or a facial, all featuring products from the prestigious brands KOS Paris and Valmont.
I gave into a hydration treatment from Valmont, focused on the anti-aging properties of the famous Swiss brand for an optimal result. My skin really needed it! In addition to the above, the center offers a fitness room with group classes, a hair salon, and a manicurist to top off this prestigious spa, one of Terre Blanche’s best features.
A Michelin-Starred Restaurant with Mediterranean Flavors
The cuisine at Faventia is managed by chef Philippe Jourdin, awarded one Michelin star. First off, I was blown away by the beautiful surroundings! Seated on the terrace with a glass of champagne in hand, we took advantage of the cool night air and the singing cicadas. The chef’s cuisine features southern French products, especially his “Mediterranean Flavors” set menu, with each dish paired with the region’s best wines. The richness of the food on offer as well as the impeccable service guaranteed us a perfect gourmet evening.
The Verdict
Terre Blanche is more than just a luxury resort… it’s difficult to describe the ambiance and the quality of life that set this place apart in only a few sentences! It’s a far cry from the “all-inclusive” vacation, and instead offers a new style of select resort, where you can spend a week without ever needing to leave thanks to the numerous activities available (unless you’d like to explore the surrounding area). Finally, the service in this five-star hotel is truly exceptional and deserves to be recognized! A marvelous luxury hotel that will satisfy even the most demanding clients!
