Park Hyatt Bangkok: A Haven of Contemporary Luxury in the Heart of the Thai Capital
The Park Hyatt Bangkok is a luxury hotel located in the heart of Bangkok's business district, perched atop the upscale Central Embassy shopping center. Its avant-garde architecture, designed by the London studio AL_A in collaboration with Pi Design from Bangkok, evokes the silhouette of a metallic cobra, boldly standing out in the urban landscape. The interior offers the ambiance of a luxurious private residence, highlighting contemporary artworks and subtle touches of Thai culture.
The hotel offers 222 spacious rooms and suites, decorated in soothing tones, where we had the pleasure of staying last year (read our complete article: The Park Hyatt Bangkok: When Design Meets Ultimate Comfort). Guests can enjoy a 40-meter saltwater infinity pool surrounded by tropical greenery, offering stunning city views, as well as various dining options, including the Afternoon Tea offered at the Lobby Lounge.
A Sensory Journey Between Gourmandise and Responsible Commitment
In the subdued elegance of the Living Room, the Nature's Serenity afternoon tea is an invitation to a sensory journey that celebrates the richness of Thai artisanal products and the commitment to sustainability. Available until April 30, 2025, this unique experience honors ingredients from local producers, selected for their quality and positive impact on communities and the environment.
Each menu item reflects a commitment to supporting ethical agriculture and minimizing carbon footprint. Ingredients come from the Royal Projects in Chiang Mai, Khun Lao coffee in Chiang Rai, Khlong Phai farm in Bangkok, and Paradai cocoa in Nakhon Sri Thammarat, demonstrating deep respect for local expertise and fair trade.
The experience begins with a refreshing touch of Sarnies' cacao kombucha, followed by a selection of delicate and creative pastries. The vanilla Haman choux and mango roll reveal subtle notes, while the Paradai cocoa tart and 70% dark chocolate crème brûlée delight chocolate lovers. The strawberry pearl, combining coconut dacquoise and strawberry coulis, brings a light gourmet touch. Big favorite for the shared dessert, the Chalong Bay rum baba with pineapple, enriched with a guava and lime compote, perfectly completes this sweet assortment.
On the savory side, refined sandwiches elevate local products with balanced and flavorful combinations. Smoked ham and provolone are accompanied by marinated mustard, while BBQ chicken from Khlong Phai farm is enhanced with shallot caramel and a hint of Mekhong whisky. Ora King salmon from New Zealand is paired with a dill cream and the crunchy texture of snow peas, while the Royal Project tomato tartlet, with caramelized onion and goat cheese, adds a full-flavored vegetable touch.
The experience is extended with treats including Haman's vanilla madeleine, a coconut sugar cookie with Paradai chocolate chips, and a Khun Lao coffee financier. Additionally, guests are invited to an interactive Thai cacao infusion workshop by Sarnies, showcasing cold extraction techniques and allowing them to compose their own infusion from carefully selected cocoa beans and herbs.
On the beverage side, we enjoyed an Eros tea from Mariage Frères, a French tea house that I particularly appreciate. It is also possible to opt for a coffee from the collaboration with Sarnies or, for an even more refined touch, a glass of champagne. To extend the pleasure, each guest will leave with a gift: an artisanal Paradai chocolate bar, symbols of the spirit of Nature's Serenity.
My Opinion
The Park Hyatt Bangkok perfectly embodies contemporary elegance, combining bold design and discreet refinement. Its commitment to sustainability, highlighted through the Nature's Serenity afternoon tea, adds an ethical and responsible dimension to an experience already marked by luxury and gourmandise. Special mention for the Chalong Bay rum baba, a true explosion of flavors. Between gastronomic innovation and rooting in local traditions, this address once again stands out as a must-visit in the Bangkok hotel scene.
