Pleta de Mar: A Chic, Romantic Getaway in Mallorca

Total Peace and Quiet

Pleta de Mar is a veritable balcony overlooking the sea on Mallorca’s east coast, only an hour’s drive away from Palma and the airport. Its location in the heart of a region which feels completely cut off from the world is just incredible. Situated in the small village of Canyamel, the hotel’s proximity to the lovely medieval villages of Capdepera or Arta offers guests plenty of opportunities to explore the area. But what really sets this hotel apart is its position overlooking the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. With this boutique hotel reserved for adults, guests are guaranteed total peace and quiet, interrupted only by birdsong and the sound of the waves below. 

30 Refined Designer Suites

Spread out amidst a natural setting of pine and olive trees, the hotel’s 30 spectacular suites blend in perfectly with the landscape, with enough space between them to ensure a peaceful experience for every guest. We stayed in the smallest suite (which is still an impressive 50 m²), named the Concierge Suite, which features a chic, designer atmosphere with minimalist décor and natural colors. It continues onto a terrace, where guests can take advantage of the sun and the mild Balearic climate. I especially liked the fantastic designer bathroom, with a skylight over the shower. 

A Relaxing, Picturesque Panorama

It’s easy to kick back at the Pleta de Mar with its idyllic environment; my only challenge was deciding where to go for a relaxing afternoon! It was difficult to choose between the two gorgeous infinity pools, one of them overlooking the sea. There’s also a little beach only a few minutes away on foot for those who want to take a dip! As a fan of exclusive, calm locations, I was truly enchanted by the serenity of this place. It’s perfect for recharging your batteries! 

Mediterranean Recipes at the Restaurant Foc

In the evening, we had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant Foc. There, guests can savor traditional cuisine with Mediterranean flavors, such as grilled meat and fish: sea bream caught the very same day, rack of lamb, and even more elaborate dishes such as the misoyaki-marinated bass with kimchi. We also enjoyed a lovely glass of wine, chosen from the fantastic selection of vintages proposed by the restaurant. As for the panorama, the fabulous view overlooking the pool lends the restaurant an ultra-romantic ambience that swept us off our feet. The following morning, we returned to the dining room for a delicious breakfast buffet, offering the best local dishes in a breathtaking setting!

• Architecture that blends in perfectly with nature and the fantastic panorama. Same comment for the pools, which seem to melt into their surroundings!
• Contemporary, refined, sophisticated décor, be it in the suites or the common areas.
