Surrounded by top shopping centers, Anantara Siam allows its visitors to dive into the urban bustle while offering relaxation opportunities at Lumpini Park, the green lung of Bangkok, just a five-minute walk away. Its proximity to the Royal Bangkok Sports Club also enriches the offering for those in search of elegance and exclusivity.
Where Thai Refinement and Siamese Tradition Meet
Anantara Siam Bangkok stands out for its refined style and urban oasis ambiance, a tranquil escape in the heart of Bangkok's relentless hustle. Renovated in 2015 by the Minor International group, this establishment harmoniously blends sophisticated elegance and Siamese traditions, enriched by lush landscaping by Bill Bensley.
The hotel lobby is a spectacle in itself, with its frescoes and a towering mural above a monumental staircase. This grand entrance, flanked by colonnades and large floral arrangements, introduces visitors to a setting that is not just a hotel, but a true Thai cultural experience. Anantara Siam thus becomes a privileged place for both international travelers and Bangkok's elite, seeking to recharge in this spectacular setting.
354 Keys to Thai Elegance
Spanning nine floors, the 354 rooms and suites offer an elegant refuge where traditional Thai charm meets modern comfort. They feature captivating views of the city, lush inner gardens, the pool, or the exclusive golf course of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. Each space is a celebration of local design with murals painted by Thai artists, polished teak wood furniture, and luxurious Jim Thompson fabrics that evoke the history of silk in Thailand. The white marble bathrooms with their standalone bathtubs and rain showers add a touch of luxury.
We had the pleasure of staying in a Grand Premier Room spanning 42 m². Designed with a contemporary decor that blends elegant and comfortable furniture with Thai touches, it exudes a serenely luxurious aesthetic and authentic charm. The verdant view of the impeccable golf course of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club through the large windows is a true breath of fresh air in this dynamic metropolis.
At Breakfast Time
The enchanting breakfast setting offers a true feast from the early morning hours. Guests can indulge in a buffet and enjoy various cooking stations that offer a variety of dishes, from Western classics to Oriental specialties.
A Palette of International Cuisine
The restaurants at Anantara Siam Bangkok, highly sought after by both hotel guests and Bangkok residents, are often fully booked. The culinary offerings include Shintaro, a Japanese restaurant, Biscotti trattoria with a wide choice of pizzas and fresh pastas, Café Wolseley combining British heritage with European grandeur, Guilty featuring South American flavors, and the Spice Market restaurant, dedicated to the flavors of the kingdom. The lobby is the preferred spot for an exquisite Afternoon Tea.
An Italian Lunch at Biscotti
The Biscotti restaurant offers the best of Italian cuisine in a contemporary setting, where passion and tradition meet. Visitors can relish authentic pizzas, fresh pastas, and seafood dishes, all accompanied by a selection of refined wines.
During our lunch at Biscotti, we were captivated by the accuracy of the Italian cuisine served. Our meal began with a creative beetroot and foie gras salad, followed by a pizza topped with burrata and Parma ham, and tagliolini with royal crab, blending freshness and intensely satisfying flavors. The meal concluded with a traditional Italian tiramisu, presented in a modern way, and the signature Amalfi lemon dessert, a visual trompe-l'oeil creation as impressive in taste as in appearance.
Our Dinner at Spice Market
The iconic Spice Market restaurant at the hotel is a true celebration of traditional Thai cuisine. Designed to recall an old-time Thai spice shop, this charming place offers an immersion in the authentic flavors of the various regions of the kingdom.
During our stay at Anantara Siam Bangkok, dinner at Spice Market was a delightful culinary experience. We started with the satay ruam, an assortment of skewers with a delicious peanut sauce, followed by crispy vegetarian spring rolls. The main courses, phad Thai khai kor and khao phad pu (crab fried rice), brilliantly showcased the complex and comforting flavors of Thailand. For dessert, it was impossible to resist the classic khao niew ma-muang, an exquisite blend of mango, sticky rice, and coconut, which we paired with a jasmine and coconut crème caramel and a passion fruit sorbet.
Sunday Brunch
The Sunday brunch at Anantara Siam is a true institution in Bangkok, known for its lively, elegant, and artistic atmosphere. This weekly event attracts gourmets with an eclectic culinary offering that ranges from Latin American flavors to Arab mezze, from the Indian tandoor to authentic Thai cuisine, not to mention fresh seafood. The experience is enhanced by live Latin music, creating a festive atmosphere in the hotel's shaded courtyard. As for drinks, guests can sip on cocktails, wine, or indulge in champagne. Meanwhile, children are fully entertained with magician shows, balloon artists, and various captivating activities.
An Immersion in Thai Wellness at Anantara Spa
Anantara Spa is a true urban sanctuary offering a haven of tranquility in the heart of Bangkok's bustle, while celebrating Thailand's rich cultural heritage. The signature treatments, such as the traditional Thai massage and the herbal compress massage, are deeply rooted in local traditions and offer an authentic immersion in Thai wellness.
The spa treatment suites are havens of luxury where one can receive care in an intimate and refined setting, equipped with Roman-style bathtubs or private steam rooms, allowing for a truly exceptional spa experience. We discovered these during our 90-minute couple's hot stone massage. This therapy uses the heat of volcanic stones and ancient techniques to relax muscles and harmonize the mind, with stones placed on key energy points to maximize the therapeutic effect.
To Continue Relaxing
The hotel's elegant outdoor pool and sunbathing area, nestled in a verdant setting of lush gardens, waterfalls, and lotus ponds, offer a serene escape for guests wishing to relax after a day of touring the city. For those who wish to stay active, the hotel features a health club equipped with a gym, squash courts, and a yoga studio.
