The establishment embodies a remarkable fusion of modern chic and rich Thai cultural heritage. The painted glass panels, illustrating picturesque village scenes, and the bronze sculptures that adorn the rooms, testify to this artistic celebration.

We stayed in a one-bedroom residential suite which was the perfect option for our discovery of the hotel.
The interior of each room, marked by refined minimalism, is adorned with traditional Thai artworks, offering a subtle immersion into the local culture. The wooden floors and the furniture in soothing shades create a welcoming and bright contemporary environment, while the panoramic views embrace the splendor of Bangkok. The Breakfast
With its wall paintings depicting rural life and court scenes, the Thai restaurant Praya Kitchen invites guests on a journey through time starting in the morning. The breakfast is offered in the form of a generous buffet and includes all the essentials to start the day in a Western style, as well as excellent Asian options, including Thai, Indian, and Chinese specialties.
Our Memorable Evening at Yào Restaurant & Rooftop Bar
Our evening began in grand style on the top floor of the hotel, at the Yao Rooftop Bar. Imbued with Chinese elegance, this space invites us to enjoy refreshing cocktails while embracing the urban horizon of Bangkok. The panoramic view is breathtaking, offering a 360-degree spectacle that juxtaposes the modernity of skyscrapers with the authenticity of the old city and the serenity of the Chao Phraya River. The drinks are accompanied by light bites, and the atmosphere is enhanced by lounge melodies, creating an ideal setting where tourists and expatriates meet and share memorable moments.
The evening continued at the Yao restaurant, which offers a tantalizing menu blending traditional and modern Chinese cuisine. The venue, a true gem of design evoking Shanghai in the 1930s, has private dining rooms and offers spectacular views from the 32nd floor of the hotel.
The dinner started with one of the restaurant's signature dishes, the Shanghai 6 Elements platter, consisting of roasted duck, soy sauce cod, chicken salad, crispy pork, BBQ pork, and jellyfish salad. This dish immediately immersed us in the beloved Cantonese flavors. The meal then continued with a fried fish wrapped in oolong tea leaves and soy sauce, presented on a lotus leaf, accompanied by sticky rice with royal scallops, Beijing-style noodles, and green beans fried with dried tofu. To conclude on a refreshing note, we opted for a chrysanthemum tea poached pear accompanied by bird's nest, a highly prized Cantonese specialty.
Our Japanese Lunch at Kissuisen
Kissuisen draws inspiration from the philosophical elements of Godai: earth (izakaya), fire (private room & teppanyaki), wind (omakase) and water (sake bar). Under the leadership of Chef Yuichi Mitsui, with rich experience in renowned establishments in Japan, the team at Kissuisen develops innovative menus from seasonal ingredients selected to reflect the authenticity of Japanese culture.
The interior of the restaurant is distinguished by the use of noble materials, incorporating emblematic architectural elements of Japanese design. It features tatamis, shoji sliding doors, a genkan welcoming area, engawa walkways along the verandas, and decorations made from wooden sake barrels, all contributing to creating an ambiance conducive to a high-quality Japanese culinary experience.
Our lunch at Chi Izakaya was an immersion in a vibrant and warm universe. The menu highlights dishes prepared with binchotan charcoal for its unique fragrance. We chose the gyu tataki, delicately roasted wagyu accompanied by ponzu sauce, the ishimi masumori, an assortment of sashimi, and the tuna maki sushi, consisting of seven pieces of tuna maki. We also enjoyed the takowasabi & tai shiokara, wasabi octopus and salted snapper belly, the dashimaki tamago, a Japanese omelette, and our favorite, the karubi yaki, beef ribs with a special soy sauce that stands out for its tenderness and exquisite taste. The meal concluded on a sweet note with the kasutera, a cake of Portuguese origin that has become a famous specialty in Japan.
Quan Spa
The serene Quan Spa offers a complete menu of massages, body wraps, and scrubs to soothe the mind and body, ideal after a day of discovering Bangkok. We unfortunately did not have the opportunity to test it.
A Pool with a Panoramic View
Among its many amenities, the 18th-floor outdoor infinity pool is a true gem, offering guests a wonderful experience between discoveries of the city. With a panoramic view of the Bangkok skyline, this pool provides the perfect setting for relaxation.
