W Dubai – Mina Seyahi: Between Glamour and Excitement
The W Dubai – Mina Seyahi is an iconic five-star hotel on Jumeirah Beach, blending contemporary design, arabesque touches, and spectacular views of the Arabian Gulf, Palm Jumeirah, and Ain Dubai. Its elegant glass tower houses spacious rooms and suites, all with private balconies, offering a luxurious setting to relax. But beyond its high-end comfort, this hotel stands out for its decidedly festive atmosphere: DJ sets by the infinity pool at Ginger Moon, lively night entertainment, trendy bars, and an adults-only beach club create a vibrant and cosmopolitan world, ideal for those who love to party in style. It was in this electrifying atmosphere that we went to dine at ATTIKO, the iconic rooftop perched on the 31st floor.
When Design Meets the Horizon
ATTIKO immediately captivates with its unique style, imagined as an Asian garden suspended between sky and sea. Designed by Swiss Bureau Interior Design, the 600 m² space bathed in natural light thanks to its large bay windows offers breathtaking panoramic views of Dubai Harbour, The Palm Jumeirah, and Bluewaters Island. Around a spectacular central bar, intimate lounge corners unfold in a setting both sensual and vibrant, blending warm wood, natural stone, and deep green accents. A true extension of this refined world, ATTIKO's vast terrace is its centerpiece: open to the horizon, it wraps the rooftop in a 180° perspective and immerses guests in an open-air setting where the sea and sky seem to merge. Adorned with lush greenery and dotted with open-air lounges, it combines the gentle sea breeze with an enchanting musical atmosphere, creating a suspended cocoon perfect for both contemplation and celebration.
Celebration, Flavors, and Skyline
Imagined by the Sunset Hospitality Group, a true reference on Dubai's lifestyle and nightlife scene, they reinvent the rooftop lounge concept here with a fully immersive and multisensory approach. Conceived as an Asian-inspired “social supper club,” the venue caters to every desire: golden hour enthusiasts who come to admire the sunset over the skyline from the vast terrace, epicureans enchanted by chef Kyung Soo Moon's refined pan-Asian dishes, and partygoers drawn by the electric energy of the lounge at nightfall. Every moment of the day becomes an experience here, from shareable bites to meticulously crafted signature cocktails and an exceptional panorama.
As night falls, ATTIKO reveals its full festive dimension: the atmosphere charges with vibrant energy and the venue transforms into a true club in the sky. Deep and catchy sets by resident or guest DJs blend with live performances by percussionists, dancers, and artists, creating an electrifying universe until dawn. Themed evenings such as Saturday's Sky Brunch or Tuesday's Ladies Night fill this rooftop with cosmopolitan effervescence, making ATTIKO the go-to spot to experience Dubai's nightlife spirit.
The Odyssey of Pan-Asian Flavors
Our dinner began in a cozy and elegant atmosphere, lulled by the sparkling lights of Dubai's skyline. To start, we chose two Karma mocktails, a house creation blending white tea, lychee juice, aloe vera, and komezu. Both sweet, fruity, and subtly tangy, this alcohol-free cocktail stood out for its freshness and balance, perfect to gently awaken the palate before the culinary journey ahead.
We then discovered the sumptuous Nigiri Selection, an elegant and colorful plate paying homage to Japanese tradition in all its finesse. Each nigiri paired perfectly shaped vinegared rice with a slice of ultra-fresh raw fish, showcasing noble pieces like o toro (melt-in-the-mouth fatty tuna belly), chu toro (savory medium-fatty tuna), and akami (firmer and more intense red tuna). Alongside them, sake (tender buttery salmon), hamachi (silky-textured seriola), botan ebi (sweet and plump royal prawn), and hotate (delicate and soft scallop) completed this exceptional marine palette.
The tasting continued with Truffle Wagyu Sliders, comforting little burgers perfect for sharing. Each bite combined the melt-in-your-mouth intensity of wagyu beef steak with crispy mushrooms adding contrast, all enhanced by a creamy truffle aioli with deep, woody aromas. Wrapped in soft brioche buns branded hot with the ATTIKO name, these sliders offered the perfect blend of richness and softness, ideal for enjoying the last glimmers of sunset on the terrace.
Then came the mains. The Wagyu ribeye first, thinly sliced and seared to perfection, revealing a tender texture and remarkable aromatic intensity. Sprinkled with red chili, grilled sesame seeds, and coated in a caramelized sweet soy sauce, it was elevated by a few chive sprigs adding a fresh herbal note. In contrast, the lobster captivated with its enchanting aromas and generosity: perfectly cooked lobster topped with yuzu kosho butter blending the zest of Japanese citrus and a hint of spice, sprinkled with chili crumble for crunch, and finished with a dash of lime juice. A spectacular surf-and-turf duo, which we paired with simple white rice topped with grilled sesame seeds to highlight every flavor.
To end this culinary journey, time for sweets. The yuzu cheesecake first, combining the tangy freshness of yuzu with the creamy softness of a light mousse. Its crunchy Lotus biscuit base brought a caramelized, lightly spiced note, contrasting with the mousse's lightness and its bright yellow glaze. Topped with a disc stamped with “attiko,” it brilliantly concluded the meal. Finally, the mango and coconut tart brought a sunny tropical touch: a thin crunchy shortbread base filled with a soft mango heart, topped with a perfect spiral of coconut cream, and served with intensely fragrant mango sorbet — a bright, sweet, and refreshing bite, ending on an exotic and refined note.
As a final touch, we enjoyed a Genmaicha with Matcha tea, a deep green tea with roasted rice aromas, savory umami notes, and a delicately refreshing finish. A soothing conclusion, like a whisper punctuating this dinner suspended between sky and sea.
