A Dinner that Captivates the Taste Buds

The evening began on an elegant note, with a glass of Chateau Minuty rosé for me, and an exotic Tong Chong mocktail for my companion, artistically presented in a bird-shaped glass enclosed in a golden cage. This start set the tone for an evening where every detail was carefully thought out to surprise and delight the guests. The ambiance was refined, with dim lighting accentuating the intimate and chic atmosphere of the restaurant's terrace.

The starters were a true gustatory journey. The crispy duck with hummus, a bold fusion of Eastern and Western culinary traditions, was a delight. Each bite revealed a perfect harmony between the crispy texture of the duck and the creamy sweetness of the hummus. The foie gras miso duck gyozas, on the other hand, were simply divine. The delicacy of the dough and the richness of the filling made these bites a real treat for the taste buds, striking a perfect balance between umami and indulgence.

For the main courses, we were seduced by the ribs cooked for 48 hours, accompanied by crispy cauliflower and garlic kalbi sauce. The incredibly tender meat easily fell off the bone, and the rich and flavorful sauce added a depth of flavors that exalted each bite. The Canadian lobster with demon sauce was another highlight of the meal. The delicately cooked lobster meat was elevated by a spicy and fragrant sauce that awakened the senses. Each dish was a masterful demonstration of the chef's ability to boldly and sophisticatedly combine ingredients.

To crown this feast, the desserts brought a beautiful final touch. The matcha chocolate fondant, with its flowing heart and subtly bitter flavor, was a pure moment of indulgence. The exotic bubble bath, a playful nod presented in a mini bathtub, was an experience in itself. This dessert, with its exotic flavors and original presentation, concluded the meal on a joyful and inventive note.

My Opinion

My dinner at Demon Duck was much more than just a gastronomic experience: it was a true sensory adventure. Each carefully prepared dish transported me to a universe where tradition and modernity meet with refined audacity. Alvin Leung's personal touch, with his flair for innovation and detail, made this evening unforgettable. The elegance of the setting, the vibrant ambiance, and the exceptional quality of the dishes made this culinary experience an exquisite celebration of haute cuisine in Dubai.
