Located in the heart of Portofino port, the Belmond Splendido Mare benefits from an ideal location in this region which is one of the most beautiful in Italy: the Italian Riviera! Formerly a fisherman's shelter, this townhouse with its handful of rooms and suites (14 rooms, including 4 suites) gives the feeling of being in your own private residence.

The new design imagined by the Parisian architect duo FESTEN is inspired by fishing traditions and the hotel's modest past while bringing a touch of sophistication. Each room draws inspiration from the look of a traditional Italian fishing boat interior with natural wood, ropes and brass. The door arches and ceiling style are embellished with traditional Ligurian colors - amber, navy green and terracotta - all heightened by sharp black lines, typical of traditional painted door frames. The bathrooms are inspired by the nearby beach cabins of the Santa Margherita resort with white and yellow geometric tiles that cover the walls with bold patterns, set off by a pure white marble floor. The best of mid-century modern Italian design was chosen for the furnishings. Each room is also equipped with antiques.

On the Chuflay restaurant side, which has been a gathering place for locals and international travelers for decades, it will be designed as an open and bright space, all in a family atmosphere.

Guests staying at the Belmond Splendido Mare will have access to the Belmond Splendido Hotel, its sister property located on the heights of the port, and will be able to enjoy its superb overflowing saltwater pool, its terraced gardens offering panoramic views of the sea, and its equally splendid spa.
